By the lips that
Were meant to be kissed not chapped,
Is whispered lyrics that
Were meant to be sung not spoken.
As hands that
Were meant to caress not callous
Perform signs for stories that
Were meant to have fanciful pictures not fumbling gestures.
Not all destinies come true
Some just have to make do.
Time has taught us great things
Like sometimes we do what others order
For selfish reasons like we actually want to.
Like sometimes picture perfect
Is hiding things just beyond the frame.
Like sometimes faith isn't as blind as they say
But rather knows exactly where it's leading those that follow.
But children you can't know
You don't have time on your side.
Imagination and spirit haven't died.
And awe is really
A faerie stealing breath.
Grownup's stories have logic
They have statistics, reality and other dull things.
My stories, your stories
Make up for what they lack in logic
With morals and life lessons
You don't have to
